God does not forget the labour of love.
“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”
Reflection
The verse rests on something it calls impossible: that God would forget work done in love. It would be, the writer says, unrighteous — against His very character — to overlook it. So the labour isn't merely noticed; it's held, permanently, by One incapable of forgetting it. That speaks directly to the unseen kind of work. Much of the truest labour of love goes unremarked — the ministering that no one tallies, the service with no audience. This verse plants a stake against the fear that such work vanishes: it doesn't. It's remembered at the highest level, by the One who cannot do otherwise. Midweek, when the effort feels invisible, that's the ground to stand on — not one act of it is lost.
