This Is the Sum
“Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;”
Reflection
After seven chapters of argument, the writer stops and gives the sum — the way a man at the end of a long watch report sets down the single line that matters. We have such an high priest. Seated, not pacing; the work finished, the post held. Every Sunday is for remembering the sum before the week returns to the particulars.
