Faith gives the not-yet weight enough to act on.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Reflection
It reads almost like a definition, and it is one — but a strange, bold one. Faith is called substance and evidence: solid words, courtroom-and-marketplace words, not misty ones. The things hoped for and not yet seen are given weight and standing now, in the present, by faith. Faith is what makes the not-yet real enough to act on. That's a Monday-shaped truth. The week ahead is unseen; the hoped-for outcomes aren't in hand. Faith doesn't pretend they're already here — it gives them substance enough to move toward, evidence enough to build on before the seeing comes. It's the quality that lets a person act on what's promised as though it were already solid ground, because in the way that counts, it is.
