Delivered not from the threat first — from the fear of it.
“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”
Reflection
Three movements in one short line: sought, heard, delivered. The seeking comes first — an active turning toward, not a passive wish that things improve. And what follows the seeking isn't silence: he heard me. The turning was met. Notice what the deliverance is from — not, in the first instance, from the circumstances, but from all my fears. The threats may still stand; the fear of them is what's lifted. That's a particular kind of rescue, and often the one most needed. The situation can be unchanged and the person still delivered, because the fear that magnified it has been answered. Sought, heard, and freed from the dread — that's the sequence worth starting a day on.
