The Daily Anchor by Elias Maren — Biblical Wisdom, Strategic Reflection, Morning Guidance
Hebrews 2:1 (KJV)
Hebrews 2:1 (KJV)

Scripture Devotion

Nothing dramatic has to go wrong. Things merely slip — that's the warning.

“Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.”
Hebrews 2:1 (KJV)

Reflection

Hebrews 2 names the quietest danger in the spiritual life: not rebellion, not collapse — slippage. Moorings loosen a knot at a time; nobody decides to drift. The Song's bride knows the cost this morning: she hesitated at the door one moment too long, and the one she loved had withdrawn. The remedy in both books is the same and is a Monday word: earnest heed. Check the knots — the readings, the prayers, the habits that hold the boat — before the week's current picks them for you.

Motivational Quote

The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance.

“The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance.”
— John Philpot Curran

Application

The short version circulates under grander names; Curran said it first, before the Lord Lieutenant and Privy Council, about the price of every freedom worth keeping. It's Hebrews 2:1 for citizens: what you stop watching, you start losing. Begin the week by naming the one thing you've been letting slip — then tie that knot first.
